WDVE’s Jack Maloy retires

In the early hours of Thursday, Feb. 28, long-time 102.5 WDVE-FM host Jack Maloy was signing off of Pittsburgh’s iconic station for one final time.

Maloy has been with ‘DVE for about 36 years, according to Pittsburgh Radio & Television.

He posted a brief note to the station’s webpage about his retirement:

I am retiring and just want to thank everybody for everything especially Lainie Kelli Melanie and Irie and my radio heroes Bruce Morrow Chuck Leonard andDan Ingram ROCK ON

Fellow DVE host Sean McDowell posted to the station’s Facebook page remembering Maloy’s former Sunday morning oldies show:

The Sunday Morning Oldies on DVE was a program i never missed! i was either just passing out at 7am on Sundays or just getting up…A Heritage Pittsburgh Radio Guy i was always in awe of, Jack Maloy…Rock On Jack…

Only time will tell who will replace him in the overnight slot. Or, as one Facebook commenter wrote: “Wtf? He can’t retire! He will be replaced with some shitty syndicated show.”

Have your say, maybe?
